Born in the Netherlands Antilles Pappa Bear began his career as a chef. He completed his apprenticeship as valedictorian and was Chef de Cuisine. But his true passion was hip-hop. After the early 1990s, his sister Daisy Rollocks, better known as Daisy Dee, helped with the production of their songs, he joined the group Black Male, with whom he released three songs.
In 1996, Pappa Bear joined the successful label Booya Music. The label was designed by Toni Cottura, Bülent Aris and Holger Storm launched and marketed successfully artists like Nana, AK-SWIFT, Marky Mark (Mark Wahlberg) and produced very successful songs for the world likes of the Backstreet Boys or 'N Sync.
After he initially appeared as a guest rapper on songs by Nana and supported him at the promotion of his first album, came the great moment of Pappa Bear in the autumn 1997th. Together with Jan van der Toorn he interpreted the Kool & The Gang classic song "Cherish" and made a new track than landed to become an international hit. In spring 1998, Pappa Bear put (with Jan van der Toorn at his side) and established by seamlessly with the song When the Rain Begins to Fall at his first success at.
The first album What's My Name took place in May 1998 on his way into the record shops and at the top of the charts. The third was Honey Luv, again successfully supported with Jan van der Toorn who sand again the chorus.
In 2000 the second album was supposed to appear, but this it failed, that the label Booya Music disbanded. On the Internet you could find the song Wonderful Life, which would probably become the first single. Since then, it has become very quiet around Pappa Bear.
2009 Pappa Bear was back. On his MySpace page new tracks were found. He had Jeanny by Falco gecovert. 2010 planned Pappa Bear a comeback but unfortunately the songs were never released.
Luckily for us who were around the euro-rap forum back in 2006, Pappa Bear showed up and shared his second album with the fans who supported him even after years of no new music production.
